Because this is a legitimate site, all of the music that is on this site has been approved by the artists, record companies and the other parties if interest. The music that has been uploaded, has been uploaded from legitimate sources, and not from anyone with a pc and a program to insert a virus. The music is purchased from a secure site (like any typical ecommerce transaction.) So your purchases and downloads should be safe.

I know many sites out there are places that use downloadable music to put viruses on your machines, but those aren't legitimate places and if they were found out by artists and record producers, they would be shut down pretty quickly. With this site, artists are scrambling to put their music up because they,

1) make more money, and
2) are exposed to a wider audience and marketed by people who are active fans!

This is a really exciting time to get into the music business!
