The music that has been uploaded, has been uploaded from legitimate sources, and not from anyone with a pc and a program to insert a virus. I know many sites out there are places that use downloadable music to put viruses on your machines, but those aren't legitimate places and if they were found out by artists and record producers, they would be shut down pretty quickly. It depends upon how fast you want to grow you income. The more time you
put into it, the more income you will make. It basically involves sharing your love of music with your friends and telling them that they can now buy and download music from your online store. If you want to expand upon that and do some additional marketing methods, then you can certainly do that for greater benefits. If you don't normally buy your music online, but at the record stores, then this transition may be more difficult to make. There are also a number of audiobooks on line, which in itself is a growning industry.

Here is another great question someone asked me....

do you only make money by people buying into the same offer we do? In other words, do I have to buy a package and then send emails to people or advertise hoping they buy it so I make money too?

You can earn money in many different ways. If you only wish to be an affiliate, and sell downloadable music (soon to be videos, ringtones and concert tickets), then you can earn an income doing only that. Now you will have to let people know about your online music store, because gone are the days of "if you build it, they will come". You don't have to sell anyone any other package to make an online income.

Here is an example of how low key it can be.... I was at a party, and there were some great songs that were played. I created a play list of those songs, put it up on my storefront, and sent an email to everyone at the party that if they liked the songs, there was a playlist of the music they could download and burn onto a CD. It's all totally legal because they are purchasing the songs through your store...

If you know of other friends who have an interest in other types of music than you do and they are looking for ways to earn an income also, then you will also earn an income or (finder's fee) for giving them the opportunity to have an online downloadable music store.
